Pokémon GO is a location-based augmented reality mobile game developed by Niantic and The Pokémon Company. The game was first released on July 6, 2016, and is available on iOS and Android devices.
In the game, players use their mobile devices' GPS capability to locate, capture, battle, and train virtual creatures called "Pokémon" which appear on the screen as if they were in the real world. The game also includes PokéStops and Gyms, which are real-world locations where players can collect items and battle other players.
